After 10 years of making music to film and other art forms, The Pit Orchestra wanted to celebrate with a big show. We approached our old friend and collaborator, film-maker Dr Allister Gall of Imperfect Cinema, about revisiting our first project, his film "Home". As a way to recognise all of our achievements and progress over those years, Home felt like the perfect vehicle to update and we invited some of our alumni to join us in re-imagining what this piece could be in light of a decade of changes to us and our city of Plymouth, the inspiration for Home all those years ago.
We curated the night with two other local audio-visual artists, Aberrate and Patrycja Lorenc, the latter of whom TPO also performed with on the night.
This was a pivotal step for us as we moved from our old name of The Imperfect Orchestra (an homage to our roots with Imperfect Cinema, founded by Allister Gall) and into our new life as The Pit Orchestra. It was a beautiful way to mark the end of one very special era and the beginning of a new one.
